Requirements
Customers wanting to book international shipment, will be able to enter details about consignee and shipment at the website. These details are sent to DHL via an API. API calculates shipment cost and displays quotation rating to the user/customer.
Solutions
This is a web form where user enters consignee details, country details, shipping date, number of items of pieces to ship, weight and units etc. These details are firstly wrapped into an XML format then sent to the DHL API through to the DHL API URL using XML Request. Once this request is sent DHL API sends a response back if the details are correct and appropriate. This XML response is parsed and displayed to the user. In case of error response error is displayed to the user. And if response is success then Package Charges and Shipment Charges are displayed to user on result page.
